abstract = {Analogue games have enjoyed a steadily growing popularity in Germany since the 1980s. While there is a rapidly increasing number of publications on digital games, scholarly discussions on the subject of analogue games remain the exception. With this publication, the Boardgame Historian project provides for the first time a broad selection of contributions by scholars from a wide range of disciplines on analogue games and the potential that the medium offers for various contexts in research and teaching. The 27 contributions are assigned to the thematic areas "History of Analogue Games", "History and Society in Analogue Games", "Education, Science and Museums" and finally "Beyond the Board". The publication is intended as an impulse for a further in-depth examination of analogue games, which at the same time offers an overview of possible approaches.},
